Why: Iranian director Ashgar Fardhadi received global praise for his films A Separation and The Salesman. After Le e (2013), which was shot in , Farhadi turns to Spain for his film. Everybody Knows, which stars Spanish megastars Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, deals with a Spanish family returning from Argentina to Madrid. The visit is meant to be brief, but unforeseen things keeps the family longer in Europe.
